You can dual-boot but you would have to compile the bootloader on your own RB doesn't provide a dual-boot firmware. I did it early in the dev of the player and I forgot where I got all the stuff...

There was a fix posted on the rockbox front page...

There was a fix posted on the rockbox front page about removing something from the USB functions that wasn't supposed to be there. Try the build I just posted to see if that keeps everything OK.
