archos, cowon, zune - they all pale in comparison.

Dude, don't listen to them, HJE-900 have mediocre isolation :D I tried different tips and they didn't help much. Lack of isolation was one of main reasons why i sold them.

Very dark, muddy, recessed, but it all could be because of tips also, i can't get a good seal with stock tips. So after ~20 hours of burn in i tried...
