Any thoughts on Earjax Lyrics?

Full disclosure, I work for Woot, but I'm writing this purely as a potential consumer. Today on http://sellout.woot.com, the item is a pair of Earjax Lyrics buds with a case and few other goodies...

I posted (http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54166) about a program I wrote on the Pilot forum, but I suppose it could apply to other Insignia players. I have no way to test on...

Custom utility for Pilot-friendly ID3 tags

So, I was tired of not having proper Unicode tags or album art on my MSC-transfered music on my Pilot. I have a 4GB with a 16GB card, so that's a lot of question marks and mojibake...

Maybe if you flood the site they will become horribly annoyed with you and consequently never feel obliged to help any of us. Just because they hack around in firmware for other players doesn't mean...

I've found that the Pilot works well using ID3v2.3 and UTF-16 encoding. My Ubuntu box (and likely most Unices) threw fits with UTF-16, much preferring UTF-8. Microsoft seems to like UTF-16, though,...

I've had good luck with 250x250, but also note that progressive jpegs can cause problems on the Pilot. I think that's the deal with the "black square" album art. If you see the question mark...

It's been some time since I've used MM, did they ever fix the whole can't sync to external memory problem? That was kinda the deal breaker for me. Also, MSC (UMS) is perfectly capable of syncing...

I use MP3Tag (http://www.mp3tag.de) v2.40 after first making images non-progressive and resized to 200x200. I also change the tag type from id3v1 + id3v2.4 UTF-8 (from foobar2000) to JUST id3v2.3...

Oh, if you don't already use foobar2000 and you are wanting to use MTP (Automatic, instead of Files & Folders or MSC), then fb2k is NOT the way to go. It's highly customizable and can organize your...

If you use foobar2000 (possibly others?) to manage your tags, it writes ID3v2.4 by default. The Pilot seems to poorly understand this tag format. mp3tag (http://www.mp3tag.de/en/), as suggested...

By "it works", of course you mean that in your thought experiment, you thought about breaking the law and, in that thought, succeeded, right? Of course no one would ever imply that anyone here...

Help Class 8?

As far as I know, the SD Card Association specified only three classes in the SD 2.0 spec (see http://www.sdcard.org/about/sdhc/). These are Class 2, 4 and 6, which correspond to 2, 4 and 6MB/s...

About the 3.5 to RCA cable

This has been talked about a while back... Basically the Pilot uses the same pinout as the iPod A/V cable. It is proprietary in that it won't work if you match up the colors of a standard camcorder...
