i easily get over 40 hours and thats with brightness 4, volume 15, and BBE+

as for SQ.. thats subjective.

no converting is not required for most .avi files... i think. im not too good with codecs.
you most likely won't have to convert them as the S9 plays 700 x 480 or so.
