Update... downloaded a tag editor, but I cannot for the life of me see any difference in the MP3 files that the Fuze+ displays and the ones it doesn't.

Thanks for the reference to iWisoft video converter. I took a look at it and it worked well on the files I tried. The fast-forward performance is much better than what I get with Any Video Converter....

I had troubles losing music until I stopped fiddling with the transfer mode, and left it on Auto. When I switched from File and Folder to Auto and back I would eventually lose music.

It is funny, the Pilot has so many features that I invariably forget one or two when describing its capabilities to someone. One I like is the RDS for FM. Most of FM music stations in my area use it....
