You don't need to delete anything; just copy the files to the flash drive. Good news...there is a new update for the X7, V2.11. It doesn't detail what it does but says fixes some errors.

I agree with the two posts above. The X7 is a fine player and transferring files using windows explorer is the ideal way to do it. Leave out the syncing, media monkey and all things that complicate....

Have you tried resetting the player?. Might sound simple but often the simplest things work. The reset button is under the flap where you connect the USB cable. A tiny hole...needs a paper clip.

If you go into "system" from the X7 screen...on the second page, beside USB mode, does it say MSC or MTP? It should be MSC. That should connect the X7 to the PC. MTP won't.
