Turns out they get special discounts from HP so we will be buying a laptop from HP. Haven't decided on which one yet, but if it's Windows 8 then I will setup StartIsBack.

Windows 7 would probably work but the problem is they don't have a copy of Windows 7. And I'm not sure it would be legal for me to install my copy.

What makes me think it's a hardware problem...
