Unhappy Cannot format Clip+

It will not format within the clip; will not format in Win7, and is not recognized with the SDFormatter tool.

Is my clip toast or is there some miraculous method for recovering it?

Help 12 Volt mini usb holder for Clip+ and D2

Anything like this out there? As the title says it would plug into the cigarette lighter and you would run a short usb to mini-usb cable from the adapter to either player to power it.

No there is not data connection. What happens is I plug in the mini-usb and all I get coming out of the clip is static and if I'm playing music and plug it in, the music stops and I get static.
