Anyone redo their speaker foam surrounds?

I was throwing down last night and guess I was overly exuberant. This morning I heard some crap from one of my speakers, and turns out I blew the surround on the woofer clean off.

They were super old (jbl l100t3s), and I'm surprised they lasted this long, but I'm wondering if it's worth it to try and redo the surrounds, but not sure if I smoked the voice coil as well.

The procedure looks fairly straightforward, but just seeing if anyone has tackled this before. Especially on a big (12"+) driver.

You might have a better chance asking on AudioKarma. That said, why can't I get some old JBL speakers...?

I've done it on a 10" infinity subwoofer. I found a kit sold on ebay that was designed specifically for it. The sub still works today.

There seems to be a fair amount of them locally on craigslist for me at least.

Got a kit for the pair on the way for ~$30. I'll give it a shot, if I screw it up too bad I can always have them repaired. My backups from the basement (some cheapo KLHs) are a serious downgrade.
