Good to see the volume control is now separated from the headphone jack. Overall, looks like an upgrade, with the possible exception of battery life. If I was in the market for a truly portable amp, I'd give it a look....but as it stands, none of the 'phones I have really need amping.

Did I read correctly that the clip--which is what I think they mean by "Split" on the spec sheet--is going to be removable? That alone would be worth replacing my E5 for.

E6 just arrived. Am charging it and will report back once tested. I have the E5 too so will do an AB test - via my J3 and RE272 iems.

Sounds better than the E5 on EQ2 level - more bass, better soundstage.

Looks and feelwise, its really light, small, is pretty stylish. Quite beautiful really.

Bennyboy, what's your impression of the plastic clip? Plastic in a clip like this always concerns me.

Dude, It's a plastic clip. I can't summon up any enthusiasm for it either way, sorry. It does the job of clipping the amp to things perfectly well. Personally, I prefer the amp without the clip - such removability at least makes the E6 better than the E5 if you ask me.

There - that's the most words I've ever spent on a plastic clip in my life. And ever will.

Dude, thanks. The concern: plastic clips can break.

They give you 2, so you can go nuts.

I haven't broke one yet, and I've had two Clips, two Clip+, and a Clip Zip.:p

I read in a review that the used material is supposed to be pretty sturdy (despite its appearance).

Once mine gets here I'll let someone I know play with it for a few minutes. That dude breaks stuff that can't be broken (not intentionally but something's up with his chi or whatever).

If he doesn't break it we'll be fine. :)

I would never let clumsy/energetically unbalanced people handle any of my tech-gear, not by a long-shot. ;)
