Am I out of touch with reality, am I missing some appeal or did I miss something when I tried the beats? IMHO I think their quality is bad, the sound is nothing special, average at best and the price tag is steep for what you get. But I continue to see the beats around town as much as I see ipod users … is there a new group of beat sheep? I wouldn’t own beat headphones as much as own a HTC mobile device. At a 309 million dollar price tag, it seems like the only winner is Beats™ Electronics LLC … what a joke.

Yes, there are Beat-ers out there. It has nothing to do with sound quality. In the same way those white ipod earbuds have nothing to do with sound quality. It is all about style, and earbuds/headphones/IEMs being a visual statement when worn.

All I require is a decent volume level coupled w/a good custom EQ. All this adds is muddiness and cost, and no true enhancement to the devices actual sound quality settings - both for the hp's and the car.

Like those HP laptops, We need an ipod with "beats technology" Whatever that is. It'll be great.

Well HTC lost any chance of getting my business with this dumbass marketing move. They will have to pull something magical out of their hats to regain my interest.

Beats are not very good for the price, plus you need a battery to get any sound at all.

People buy them because of looks and advertising. They are nothing more then expensive Skull Candies...

Yea, you can rest assured that when you're here, there are plenty of people willing and ready to see through the bullshit. And what you've described about people and loving beats, well, I'm pretty sure it's that way just about everywhere. :mad::(

It's just a phone I could care less I'm buying it regardless. The day I let Beats being in business with a phone I want make a decision for me is the day I stop being Confispect.

As long as you get the phone based on it's true qualities & strengths that's fine,...and I hope the "beats" crap on it adds to the device - not subtracts from the SQ and just boosts the price. And sadly, and truthfully, all I really expect is a boosted price. On the bright side I'd welcome being wrong - so I hope we end up w/a winner - but I'm in "I doubt it" mode,...

in long term such brands will convince decent brands to increase there prices.
when a Beats Studio is 360$ why not a low-end Grado be...

Id buy that any day, as for Beats, I convinced my friend a couple months ago to get m50s over beats, and since then he has been preaching to the other iBeatSheep about the difference. Unfortunately he still has an iPod nano lol.

Edit: Just saw this, what a joke:

I've been showing off my M50s to anyone who cares to listen... All to stunning results. A buddy even remarked that they were better than his Sennheiser HD280s which really pleased me because when I bought them I was torn between the two phones.

Alternatively, another buddy of mine has a pair of supra-aural Beats, and still thinks they sound better than the M50s. :(:mad::eek:

Does anyone know what the Beats Audio in computers like HP's line actually does? Is it just a marketing scheme?
