I am currently working on dungeon crawler engine (dungeon master, might and magic 1-5, eye of the beholder) for zen x-fi2.

It is currently work in progress.

I got new progress.

Persistent world
A week back i finished loading and saving mechanism. World is open and all map changes are persistent, so if you for example drop item in town and return after few days from desert, you will find your item, where you left it.

Campaigns mechanism
This weekend i worked on extension mechanism. It will work kinda like launcher in morrowind and oblivion. I dont have gui for it yet. So far i tested adding i campaign with new maps, scripts and items.

I have not yet decided if i will allow different Campaigns loaded in different save-slots.

BTW. does anyone know how to make folder by lua function?

Sounds like you are doing great, and as for your question, it is impossible on the player, though on the adk you can do some external libraries to accomplish it, though if we can load a type of linux library on the player then we can do just about anything we would want, including multi-thread, saving images, and multi sound channels.

hmmm dont some of those pictures look...no way! 3D! and you guys said it wasnt possible because the xfi2 couldnt handle it lol. THIS is what 3D we were talkking about using...not some super high 3D stuff like you see in Call of Duty or anything lol. Make it look like Doom Classic!

Uh no, the 3d you wanted was like doom, constant refreshing and movement, this only refreshes when you move ( like an rpg), there is a huge difference in processing power required in this game and the 3d games you wanted.

Dude, when it will be done it will be done. So far i am working on engine and mod api. I plan releasing it episodically. But i can't tell you when, because i myself don't know.

I finished door rendering and activation. And now i am working on the correct skill and equipment based characters stats computation like ac, attack and damage.

And I almost forgot. I have added second rendering mode for main game screen. It can be rendered in portrait display mode.

Damn, it was a busy season. Sorry for lack of updates. I have done some work on save slot interface and i added time :). it means that actions like walking fighting and sleeping change time of world. I also added sleep/wait interface (no graphically finished jet).

BTW, have you encountered similar weird behavior?
After i turn player on and execute script which uses dofile or loadfile on a file in campaigns/core/campaign.lua it crashes program.
And then when i execute script the same script second time (right after the crash) it runs just fine without problem.

- could that be problem with reading speed of player?
- or file size of loaded file?
- or path is too deep?
- or folders should be only written only CAPSIZED?
