X1060 Bargain!??!!
I Managed to get a X1060 in a Sony store in Somerset for £179, which I bought on the spot, so I'm very happy :)
One thing i've noticed, is the Headphone hiss normal? Also what is the Best setting for the noise cancelling? I have it on the 'Office' setting and the Level is at 5, and that seems to work the best so far |
Yes, the X is infamous for its above-average hiss. With higher impedance phones (above, say, 32 Ohm) it should behave better.
|
I tried the headphones from my old A828 and there is no hiss at all, I am tempted to get new headphones for it, but I don't want to loose the Noise cancelling, cause I use that a lot.

excellent price and congrats on the purcahse.

Thanks :D
Love it so far, SQ is pretty damn good |
I also love the noise cancelling feature and find Airplane #4 most effective at reducing noise on my daily train commute. When flying I've used the adapter that allows you to plug into an aeroplane's entertainment system and the NC also works very well here (set at around #9 or #10).

I'm glad that you are enjoying it :D
The X does hiss alot more than other players unfortunately, but some others find it isnt quite the case with their own iems, (the stock ones seem to hiss alot). |
An impedance adaptor would work to reduce hiss, but it'd disable NC functions. t seems that your only chance to have NC and lessen hiss is to solder a resistor in line with only the headphone wires, but that'd be very hard work.

I think I might just Bite the Bullet and get new Headphones, i stubbled across this http://www.play.com/Electronics/Elec...archtype=genre
I'm rather tempted to say the least, Is it worth it? |
