Zuneboards has announced that the Zune (in all varieties) has been hacked.

In essence, this means that app developers can have full access to the zune's hardware and create better programs.

I don't know about anyone else, but I have been waiting for this day for a while.

I heard about this from one of my friends via facebook. This is terrific! I'm not a developer, but I can't wait to see what people come up with using openZDK.
