Removing the Serial #/ FCC ID sticker?
 

Anyone remove the Serial #/ FCC ID sticker? The back of the X-1000 is so nice except for the serial sticker. I'm strongly considering removing it but I'm afraid of making a mess. I'm normally pretty good at removing stickers but this one seems to be stuck good. I'm afraid if I start I'll never get it back on if needed.

I hope you don't need to get it repaired. If you remove that sticker you're on your own.

I guess I should just live with it. It has some crazy strong adhesive. I'd like to remove it and save it to re-apply if needed but I don't see that happening. Just my OCD kicking in. :)

If Sony sees that it was tampered with, and they will, you'll never get any help if you need to send it to them. That's it, and that's all she wrote!!!

i cant believe that this is true. Because the serialnumber of your Walkman is also direct on the device. Just check it in the Windows Explorer windows under "Properties" to see.

So what happened if that sticker get damaged an the serial couldnt be read. What am i supposed to do then?

Tips of removing the sticker
 

First of all, i dunno whether Sonywill acknowledge it as origin or not.
So remove the sticker only when ur warranty is over.

Secondly, remove the sticker using fingernails and not sharp object.
then jus wash away the adhesive. Then u will get the back of the photo shown.

I removed mine as well ... and sold the device on ebay ...
now I bought it again, new from Amazon ... and Im gonna remove it again :'D
You could go to court against Sony if they have this policy, if the sticker is damaged or removed you lose warranty. Such a thing would be impossible in germany ... I think

Really? But my Sony A729 never had a sticker on it...

Removed the stupid sticker the first day. Came off clean. I'll post a picture tonight when I'm not on my iPhone.
