Hi, I am a Mailman and I recently started a new route that has me in the Postal truck all day instead of walking all day. I jury rigged a pair of Sony personal speakers (I don't know the model number) to use with the Sansa M240 I use in the office while I sort the mail for delivery. The new route is in a rural part of town and it's very dusty, even though I have a silicone case for the M240 I decided to get a 2gig Sly mp3 player at Fry's for $11. At $11 I figured it was cheap enough that I could risk it being junk and if all the dust and dirt damage it no big deal. It has so far been a good surprise. I have been using it everyday for 3 weeks and have had no problems. It sounds OK for what it is and is loud enough to hear over the engine noise(I don't even use the max volume). Anyone out there have any experiences with this model or Co. ??

Glad to hear it works for you. It's your average Chinese OEM player, Sly just slaps their name on it. Didn't find that specific model anywhere else, but their other players can be found on many Chinese internet stores, like Sly = OEM.

I used to have a nextar branded player that looked just like that. The audio output wore out on me in about a month or so. But I know some other people who had the same player for years.

Just an update, it's been 2 months since my last post and the Sly is still going strong. I got around the no shuffle button issue by syncing the Sly with MusicMatch and having it shuffle the play list.

i think the manufacture of this player is same from OEM TGS

It's been a year of playing 6 hours a day, 5 days a week and still going strong.

It's been 2 years now of using my Sly 5 days a week, 6 hours a day and no problems. I guess I got lucky.:D
