The battery life sux unfortunately, and the first model had crappy SQ.

Relyt 01-11-2009 05:25 PM

Yeah, battery life is pretty bad. Remember, though, that this is only a prototype. It could be upped for the final model.

The DarkSide 01-11-2009 05:36 PM

Hope so, as it's got some nice features, and pretty good lookin' at that!!!!

A little bit more info was posted at CNET. The audio battery life isn't good, but everything else sounds great.

The ibiza rhapsody actually sounds fantastic =o i still use it occasionally and for the rhapsody addict that can afford the premium. I def recommend the ibiza...

Though i have been told by someone who has used this prototype that its a fail. Touch for the sake of touch. But... it still was a prototype, so it may improve.

Relyt 01-15-2009 04:40 PM

I'm sure all the ibiza fans hope so!

Really? I heard they did a few fW updates, so this is great news.

As for the touch model, here's to hoping it'll be solid after it gets out of the beta stage. really looks like a player w/great potential.

A little more info is posted here. The article mentions the ability to download and play files from web pages. Interesting...

WiFi explains the 15hr audio life, and if it has bluetooth as well they could certainly help by making it trivially easy to shut both radios off. I've seen many touchscreen players with crappy UIs, so I hope they are spending this time really polishing it.

And it's dead. The ibiza Rhapsody has been discontinued and all future products have been canceled. The company that wrote the software (Varia Mobile) is being shut down and the partnership with Haier is no more. They made the announcement on the ibiza forums last week.

Relyt 08-07-2009 08:47 AM

Weird!

The DarkSide 08-07-2009 09:42 AM

That sux!!!!!!!! Does anyone have a link to the announcement?
