What's up with the Vibez? I can not seem to find one in stock anywhere!

Seems all the online retailers have sold off all their stock - sorry I couldn't help!

Wonder if Trekstor has a problem. No stock for a couple of weeks. Wasn't there a problem with their hard drive?

Well, sort of...the problem being that the drive's manufacturer (Cornice) folded and the drive is no longer being produced...so the supply of available drives was destined to disappear eventually. The hardware integrity of the existing drives is fine, though.

TrekStor at one point mentioned plans to transition to smaller-capacity flash drives, but a flash-based Vibez has yet to materialize. It's possible that's what this backorder wait is leading to...

If they go flash with the Vibez I'm checkin' em out.

The flash memory Vibez seems more and more like vaporware, unfortunately...

I own one. The POS broke after about 3 and 1/2 months. Took 4 months to replace. Stay away from the Vibez. Poor quality. The replacement had a loose screen cover. I am very dissapointed.

Sorry you had such a bad experience, bro. Mine has been running smoothly for over a year and a half. They're not all duds. :D

BTW: I called up the US sales office for TrekStor and the guy there believes they'll be hitting US stores at the end of October.

I am sure there are good ones, but I am not the only person who has reported a dead hard drive and a loose screen. They have a great product, but lousy quality control. They need to improve quality before I would even consider getting a new Vibez.

My Cowon D2 is just awsome (interface kind of sucks). The sound is just great, and the screen is very tough. No scratches for over 9 months including times I put it in my pocket with pens, change, and other sharp objects.

I was so excited, the Rio Avalon reborn, but while it has good, but weak sound, the quality has been very bad.

Thanks for the update.

The bookmark comment makes no sense. The bookmarking (aka "Sessions") is one of the vibez's best features and remains untouched in all beta firmware versions to date.

I firmly believe that person is mistaken. Depending on who you get, you're most likely talking to someone who knows nothing about the player outside of what's included in the online feature list. http://trekstor.de/en/products/detai...?pid=66&page=1 Just a year ago, I know people who called TrekStor asking about gapless playback on the vibez and were told it does not support gapless, which we know is absolutely untrue.

Check out page 60 in the user manual for the feature called "Session". This is identical to the Bookmark feature on the Rio Karma which saves the current entire running playlist and your exact spot in it.

well i do hope that trekstor official don`t know their product.
Manual bookmark/session is essential for me, therefore I asked them.
By the way one trekstor pdf says 8,16,32gb - now they told me 4,8,16gb.

In wenigen Wochen, spätestens aber zu Weihnachten, werden Sie dieses Gerät überall dort wo es TrekStor Produkte zu kaufen gibt, erwerben können. Der Player wird in den Speichervarianten 8GB, 16GB und 32GB erhältlich sein. (In a few weeks, eventually for Christmas, you will find this Device at your TrekStor merchant. The Player will be aviable with 8GB, 16GB and 32GB memory.)
