Bricked sansa? BLUE RING ISSUE.

I have the infamous "blue ring only" condition.
Powers on but only the blue ring lights up.
I cannot access recovery mode.

I followed the ultimate recovery tool to the letter.
It does exactly as he states, ding up sound indicating new usb connection, then the stupid xp wizard appears asking for drivers. I don't click cancel, I just ignore the prompt like he says, then I run cmd from start and run the e200tool exactly as specified. It counts down from 9 on two addresses and both say "not found" am I screwed or am I doing something wrong?? (yes I am holding REC the whole time I watch it scan for a player)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar issue, it turned out that my battery wasn't charged at all, i left it pluged in for about 15 minutes while i had a break and then it worked.

If it says not found, you probably don't have the libusb filter installed. However, (to my knowledge) there has not been one confirmed report of e200tool working on Windows - you're probably going to need to use Linux. There's a howto on it in the FAQ.

Second sentence of the ultimate fix:

Some people are unable to use e200tool under Windows, so this guide will not work for them.

ok this happened to me a few days ago just unscrew the back of your sansa, take out the battery, count for 20 secconds and put it back. Then before closing your player turn it on and check if it works PERFECTLY then just put the back , back on and there you go! (do at your own risk any damage to your player has nothing to do with abi or me)

Sansae280god, it is sometimes not the same issue.

I had the same blue scrollwheel, no screen issue. I bricked my sansa, BUT I managed to recover it.

You seriously must follow this tutorial, word by word, and exactly how it says.

This is the solution to all of your problems right here, and with a bit of playing around and a LOT of repetitive instruction following, you should be able to recover your sansa.
