I can't believe I didn't think to mention them before. They're definitely marketed as progressive, but don't necessarily fit perfectly into the mold - which is fine by me.
Coheed and Cambria. Some of their stuff has an obivious Rush vibe going on due in part to the singer's fantastic vocals. They alos pay homage to some of the hard rock/metal bands of the 80's - but in a good way.

Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV, Vol. 2- No World for Tomorrow. Entire album is just sick. And it's an interesting arrangement. The first half (side A - remember those?) is almost traditional rock with the second half blending into concept.
