zvue-spirit.jpg

If you want to show your patriotism or your name is Steven Colbert, Zvue has the perfect MP3 player for you. Not only is this player wrapped in the American flag with a star navigation pad, it also comes preloaded with 15 patriotic and good old American tunes. The player comes only in a 1GB capacity but is a tiny 2"x 1 3/8"x 3/5”.

The ZVUE Spirit features are pretty standard, but it does come with a few extra accessories like a USB charger (you will need this with the 6 hour battery life), silicone case, headphone, and USB cable. The player goes on sale just in time for the 4th of July and will retail for $36.

From the website:

"This preloaded music player complete with fifteen great rock/pop/country songs creates a fun, patriotic, listening experience."

I like how one of the songs is "Takin' Care of Business", a song by BTO, a *CANADIAN* band..... very patriotic ^_^ if you're a Canadian like me...

And don't be knockin' the U S of A! They need mp3 players too!

ROFL! Is this a joke or am I missing something here?

S. Jones on June 23, 2008 6:39 PM

No, I don't think it's a joke. I was strolling through walmart and saw this player. The packaging looked pretty impressive, so I picked one up since i needed a new inexpensive mp3 player. Surprisingly, I really liked the music. The interface was pretty basic, which is great for me. I didn't really like the flag cover, but the player came with a free white cover! The new cover looks pretty sleek and I happen to like the feel of silicon.

We just opened my sons. It was a christmas present purchased from WalMart. Instead of haveing an AC adapter it had a piece of paper saying to get the included charger you had to register your product. I went to the website and it says it is no longer accepting registrations. The player will not work with out the charger. Im taking it back.

i recieved this mp3 player for christmas as well, and mine didnt come with the charger.
but im good when it comes to electronics and found out that if you hook it to a computer using the usb cable, it will charge.

i got mine for christmas as well and you know i like it for an mp3 player its an easy interface the cover is nice and sound quality is quite nifty. i dont like the built in speaker i am sure they could of put in more memory instead of a mini speaker and i think that the interactive flag that waves to the beat of the current song is nifty but one should have the option to change it to something else. i am a proud american but the choice of preloaded songs is quite poor they needed actual patriotic songs not james brown reciting some drunken speach about being a poor shoe shine boy. and trisha year wood singing about xxxs and ooo. over all its a good player. for the price. but you get what you pay for.

ihatemybike on July 28, 2009 10:08 AM

Co-worker just got one and is having me "the tech guy" play with it. So far, for the money it doesn't seem that bad of a little player. The sound quality is decent, however the user interface is a little funky compared to other players I've used. Only downside I've found so far is that it didn't like my Invader Zim wav files.

As an adult, I wouldn't choose it as my primary DAP. However, for younger children or for situations where a better, more expensive player would be put at destruction risk "my skatepark riding" this player does the job quite well.

Why would I want to show my patriotism with an American flag?

I'm a New Zealander.

    SanDisk Sansa Clip

The Clip has a fantastic little form factor; cheap in build quality but very rugged. The interface is simple and relatively straight forward. The features on the clip are more or less average, mostly identical to the Sansa Express. However, what earns this player a spot in Editor’s Choice is the superb sound quality; you will not find another player at this size and price that can match it. • Cowon iAudio D2
    Cowon iAudio D2

The D2 is a fantastic sounding PMP with a very nice looking screen and a tone of features. One of the best features of the D2 is the SDHC slot allowing you to add another 32GB to this small wonder. The touch interface does not lend well to on the move operation, but it is not enough to keep it from being an editor’s choice. You can find usually find it at Amazon for the best price and before to check out the review.

  • Phonak Audéo PFE
    Phonak PFE

Phonak Audéo PFE offer outstanding clarity and precision; natural, dynamic mids and treble, and decent bass for a single armature in-ear phone. They handle dense, complex music very well. The PFE work well with most acoustic and some electronic music genres, but bassheads might have to look at other alternatives. They're great for sports as well, since they fit very securely.
