Veiro - Wind Up Eco-Friendly MP3 Player

veiro.jpg

If you're tired of running out of battery on your mp3 player, this might be the solution you've been after. The Veiro eco-friendly mp3 player is equipped with a wind up charger that will let you wind it up when you run dry.

One minute of winding will give you 15-20 minutes of play time, and a max charge with USB will give you about 4 hours. It can also be used to provide power to external devices, and even comes with a built in torch which will run for a few minutes on a minute of winding. It's available in the UK for £40 ($80) for a 1GB version.

Doesn't look very practical, but it is a fun concept. Makes me think of an old toy wind up FM radio/torch I had when i was little. It was actually kind of nice for camping. So i guess the same might go for an mp3 player.

this might have been useful a few months ago when a cyclone here kept us without electricity for several days...all my stuff ran out of charge by day two...

ah well, might pick one up when I go to the UK just to keep around...

This is not original at all!!

I have an old "wind-up" radio with a flashlight and siren used for emergencies..

all this company did was add an mp3 player.. same as iPods every time they advertise something "new" somebody says wow that cool im gonna get that because it does that, and at the same time other companies have been doing that so-called "cool" thing for a while, and they still do it better.

Does anyone know the home page address? Where can I mail order? We live in a remote place and this hand crank recharge is perfect for us.

  • SanDisk Sansa Clip
    SanDisk Sansa Clip

The Clip has a fantastic little form factor; cheap in build quality but very rugged. The interface is simple and relatively straight forward. The features on the clip are more or less average, mostly identical to the Sansa Express. However, what earns this player a spot in Editor’s Choice is the superb sound quality; you will not find another player at this size and price that can match it. Read the full review or go ahead and buy it.

    Samsung P2

Sure, many of us are not big fans of the walled garden, but there are a lot of great things going on with the Zune- sturdy hardware, ultra easy to use user interface, and a media player that is worthy of editor’s choice. The best part of the Zune is the constant firmware and software updates virtually giving you a new device at each major refresh. • Cowon iAudio D2
    Cowon iAudio D2

The D2 is a fantastic sounding PMP with a very nice looking screen and a tone of features. One of the best features of the D2 is the SDHC slot allowing you to add another 32GB to this small wonder. The touch interface does not lend well to on the move operation, but it is not enough to keep it from being an editor’s choice. You can find usually find it at Amazon for the best price and before to check out the review.

  • Phonak Audéo PFE
    Phonak PFE

Phonak Audéo PFE offer outstanding clarity and precision; natural, dynamic mids and treble, and decent bass for a single armature in-ear phone. They handle dense, complex music very well. The PFE work well with most acoustic and some electronic music genres, but bassheads might have to look at other alternatives. They're great for sports as well, since they fit very securely.
