Samsung P2 Gets Wi-Fi and MicroSD Slot With Cradle

samsung-p2-cradle.jpg

Confirmed Fake- sorry for the bad info =\

As if the all the current features were not enough for the P2, it will now get more with an addon cradle. The cradle will attach to the bottom of the player and add 4 brand new editions: Wi-Fi, MicroSD, FM transmitter, and even a built in speaker. This is really interesting in that it brings the P2 in closer competition with the iPod Touch. Maybe even as to trump the iPod Touch on features. This is a very welcome features really making the P2 a jack of all trades MP3 player. No pricing or availability is know right now, but we will find out more at this years CES.

Check out the video below and if you didn’t get a chance, check out the Samsung P2 review.

Very cool but it increases the length of the player considerably.

Anthony on December 7, 2007 7:49 PM

Why does it have an FM transmitter? It already has one!!

Nick on December 7, 2007 8:28 PM

It has a FM radio already. The FM transmitter is to push the audio to a radio. This looks cool. But, what does the wifi bring to the picture. I didnt see anything that showed it working.

Phoenix-X on December 7, 2007 9:56 PM

It should allow it to have sicing with a computer, download music and possibly have a browser for on the go. Man this is a sweet ass add-on :D

Eric on December 7, 2007 11:52 PM

and still no tv-out? come on, now...

choongza on December 8, 2007 10:13 AM

Is it true? I can't believe it. It doesn't consider design of P2
so i think it is rumor

Nerdelphia on December 8, 2007 11:34 AM

Booooo!!! @ MicroSD

Why not just do SDHC support? Sorry, unless someone can point out that MicroSD is catching up with SDHC (which is currently @ 16GB storage) then this is a "close but no cigar" effort with this cradle.

sigsegv0x0b on December 8, 2007 11:40 AM

Seems like a silly addition to this player.

Vlad on December 8, 2007 3:03 PM

@Nerdelphia - MicroSD cuts down on the size. It is about half the size of SDHC cards in all aspects (width, height, and depth).

is every one stupid.... on December 8, 2007 4:35 PM

i saw this vid on youtube a few days ago... i cannot believe anythingbutipod has considered this as a serious product.... its obvious that its a photochopped interpretation of a persons idea or wish for a similar type of product to exist.... i cannot believe people are taking this p2 'add-on' and the bloody vid seriously...

Fizi on December 8, 2007 4:48 PM

I dont understand why this add-on is called a cradle? surely cradles are supposed to stand on a flat surface and sit the mp3 player in an upright position? doesnt seem to me that the "cradle" will be able to stand the P2 upright on its own.... well it seems that way looking at the design in the video....

Alex M on December 8, 2007 6:17 PM

and again more reason to buy the D2.

ashxcore on December 9, 2007 12:18 AM

It would ave been nice if they told us that there werent going to be any posts instead of having everybody constantly checking and getting more and more pissed off when they still just see the post for this samsung P2 cradle thing...

iff2mastamatt on January 5, 2008 9:01 PM

I just bought an 8GB P2 and this looks awesome! I hope the MicroSD integrates songs as well as my former MP3 player (Sandisk Sansa e250) and supports video, pictures, datacasts, and etc. However, will the Wi-fi support an http:// browser? When will it be released and for how much?

iritian on January 6, 2008 5:20 PM

i heard it was coming out in march

  • SanDisk Sansa Clip
    SanDisk Sansa Clip

The Clip has a fantastic little form factor; cheap in build quality but very rugged. The interface is simple and relatively straight forward. The features on the clip are more or less average, mostly identical to the Sansa Express. However, what earns this player a spot in Editor’s Choice is the superb sound quality; you will not find another player at this size and price that can match it. Read the full review or go ahead and buy it.

  • Cowon iAudio D2
    Cowon iAudio D2

The D2 is a fantastic sounding PMP with a very nice looking screen and a tone of features. One of the best features of the D2 is the SDHC slot allowing you to add another 32GB to this small wonder. The touch interface does not lend well to on the move operation, but it is not enough to keep it from being an editor’s choice. You can find usually find it at Amazon for the best price and before to check out the review.

  • Phonak Audéo PFE
    Phonak PFE

Phonak Audéo PFE offer outstanding clarity and precision; natural, dynamic mids and treble, and decent bass for a single armature in-ear phone. They handle dense, complex music very well. The PFE work well with most acoustic and some electronic music genres, but bassheads might have to look at other alternatives. They're great for sports as well, since they fit very securely.
