SanDisk’s new TakeTV is a simple way to get content from your computer to your TV. The TakeTV is a simple 4GB and 8GB flash drive will plug into a docking station connected to your TV, supporting up to 30FPS DVD resolution (720x576). It will be supporting MPEG4, DivX, and XviD and include DivX’s DRM scheme. The DivX DRM will support SanDisk’s yet to be released Fanfare downloading service which will allow for TV and movie downloads. The information mentions that it works only with Windows XP and Vista but there is not mention of WMV or WMV DRM. This leaves out all other movie download services such as Cinema Now and Amazon Unboxed.

No word on official release date but the 4GB and 8GB versions will sell for $100 and $150 respectively with docking station and remote control.

easy way to watch your movies on all kinds of tv sets..

these looks like a superb thing... BUT the capacity, you got to be kidding. someone should release something like this but in a hard drive form factor thats like 80+GB

From the pics it looks like its S-Video/analog stereo at best. Call me back when its component video at a minimum, HDMI for preference, and digital sound.

This is total crap... They've taken divx dvd players, removed the dvd playback and put a giant price tag on it. Gp for somethign like the phillips dvp5960 dvd player and a flash drive instead. You get dvd playback, dvd upscaling, hdmi, and you can attach whatever memory you want, be a 1GB flashstick or a 250GB harddrive.

Yeah, not sure I get it. You can buy a DVD player with USB on it from Philips or pioneer for $70. These players have SVideo, Composite, Analog and HDMI output with upconversion. Then you can spend $60 for a 8gig USB drive and you are set; more capability less money.

Great to hear that DVD players are now coming with USB as I was thinking of this device for the parents.

As their DVD player breaks on average every 18 months, the Philips or Pioneer DVD player with USB will be the next purchase.

I just bought that philips because of Cptnodegard's comments. It rocks. ya don't need sansa taketv. $70 bucks well spent.

    The Clip has a fantastic little form factor; cheap in build quality but very rugged. The interface is simple and relatively straight forward. The features on the clip are more or less average, mostly identical to the Sansa Express. However, what earns this player a spot in Editor’s Choice is the superb sound quality; you will not find another player at this size and price that can match it. One of the best features of the D2 is the SDHC slot allowing you to add another 32GB to this small wonder.     The q-JAYS are great in ear phones. They offer excellent clarity, silky treble, realistic midrange, and a nice bass response. They're comfortable, incredibly tiny, and come with a huge selection of accessories. While they certainly are analytic phones, they're still fun to listen to.
