The latest creation from Oppo reveals an exceptionally attractive design, as it measures only 0.27 inches thick, and contains a 2.4-inch TFT screen which spans the majority of its face, alongside a level touchpad. Proving to be equally impressive as the appearance of the Blast is its ability to handle a large variety of music (MP3, WMA, APE, and FLAC), image (JPG, BMP, GIF, and animated GIF), and video (MP4, AVI, XviD, and FLV) formats.

It is not common to come across a portable media player with the ability to play flash video on a comfortably sized screen with an expandable microSD slot all in such an easily pocketable form. The finer details have yet to be revealed, such as pricing, storage, and battery life, but when the Oppo Blast becomes available it is unlikely that it will be shipped anywhere outside of Asia.

Interesting. The touchpad design resembles that of the Teclast C280 a lot -- see a picture of it at http://www.teclasters.com/showthread.php?t=150 . Even the led colors are the same (red). I'm wondering if this player is going to be manufactured in the same factory as Teclast players.

haha i just got this last week. it is awsome, but there are cons about it.

it lags at some times, the screen is very vulnerable to scratches and because im in the USA, i would have to buy an ipod screen protector and cut it to its shape. also, scrolling though music is hell, the touch pad makes it slow to scroll through your music, which is why i recommend using this mostly for videos. the pros about this is that it has the delete option and video looks better than my previdous mp3 players. it comes with sennheiser ear phones, so you know itll sound great. the converting software is in japanese, but doesnt take long ti figure it out. it needs no necesary software. I love it btw, videos look great.

Hey Spencer, do you own a Cowon D2 also? Because I really want to find out which one has a better audio/video display.

And how's the battery life on it?

Where'd you get it anyways, since it probly didnt ship out of China yet?

it got it from my friend who visited china, and now i dont have a cowon d2, im seriously thinking about getting it for its large display. the battery life on it is great if you like listening to music, lasts for like 10 hours on video because i watched a few movies. but i dont think itd last long enough to go hiking with. perhaps just the right amount of time to get from one continent to another on air.

    The q-JAYS are great in ear phones. They offer excellent clarity, silky treble, realistic midrange, and a nice bass response. They're comfortable, incredibly tiny, and come with a huge selection of accessories. While they certainly are analytic phones, they're still fun to listen to.
