SanDisk Video Player & Flash Player to be Announced at CES 2007

ces-2007-sansa.jpg

Here are a few pics of the upcoming MP3 player from SanDisk. Many of us thought there would be a follow up to the e200 series player, possibly the e300. But from what it looks like SanDisk will be releasing a full on portable media center and a smaller flash based player like the c200.

No details are known, but I would guess the PMP to be flashed based, since that is SanDisk’s core business. I will have more information on this come Moday at CES 2007.

[SanDisk thanks Mitch]

Very good news.
Let's just hope the video player is worth it.

Those are diff. right? The second one looks like it may be cool in terms of screen size, and the first just looks really convenient...and smaller than the c200 still?

It only it looked more sexy

The Shyte, I hope you're kidding... there are lots of flash players with USB plugs available. Samsung YP-U1, YP-U2, some Teac players, etc.

"The Shyte, I hope you're kidding..."

diggnation on January 7, 2007 11:54 AM

same here andre. May be I will buy this next year when the prices drop. New products are highly priced. Sandisk priced the E200 series $200 all of them.

Rotten_Avi8or on January 7, 2007 12:33 PM

Great...and I just got the E260 last month. Oh well, it probably would've been out of my price-range anyway.

The flash player is called Sansa Express. It comes in 1GB (assumed from the "250 songs"), and will retail for $59.

I also just discovered that at amazon. It's already available for pre-order there. That ABC link says Sanza Express, lol.

If the Video player there is priced low enough and doesn't have some of the annoying issues of the e200, I might look into it...

The older Sandisk MP3 players (c100, m100, etc.) were Audible compatible, but their (previous) latest-- the e200-- was not Audible compatible and they weren't planning to fix the e200 so that it would be.

For those that want a high end MP3/video player and still be able to listen to audiobooks, does anyone know if the new wireless or video MP3 player announced by Sandisk at CES 2007 is Audible compatible?

I have not seen any review or product description that says one way or the other.

    SanDisk Sansa Clip

The Clip has a fantastic little form factor; cheap in build quality but very rugged. The interface is simple and relatively straight forward. The features on the clip are more or less average, mostly identical to the Sansa Express. However, what earns this player a spot in Editor’s Choice is the superb sound quality; you will not find another player at this size and price that can match it. Read the full review or go ahead and buy it.

  • Samsung P3
    Samsung P2

The Samsung P2 was a success and the P3 is a very welcome and substantial update. Samsung has paid close attention to users on P2 issues and made great strides in addressing and improving most of them. The best feature of the P3 is its native video support. Most content you thow at it will playback without conversion on the great looking screen. Stop by the Samsung P3 forums for more details or check out our indepth P3 review.

  • Microsoft Zune 120
    Samsung P2

Sure, many of us are not big fans of the walled garden, but there are a lot of great things going on with the Zune- sturdy hardware, ultra easy to use user interface, and a media player that is worthy of editor’s choice. The best part of the Zune is the constant firmware and software updates virtually giving you a new device at each major refresh. • Cowon iAudio D2
    Cowon iAudio D2

The D2 is a fantastic sounding PMP with a very nice looking screen and a tone of features. One of the best features of the D2 is the SDHC slot allowing you to add another 32GB to this small wonder. The touch interface does not lend well to on the move operation, but it is not enough to keep it from being an editor’s choice. You can find usually find it at Amazon for the best price and before to check out the review.

  • Phonak Audéo PFE
    Phonak PFE

Phonak Audéo PFE offer outstanding clarity and precision; natural, dynamic mids and treble, and decent bass for a single armature in-ear phone. They handle dense, complex music very well. The PFE work well with most acoustic and some electronic music genres, but bassheads might have to look at other alternatives. They're great for sports as well, since they fit very securely.
