CNET's James Kim found deceased
It is with heavy hearts that we relay the news that CNET senior editor James Kim, who has been missing for 11 days, was found deceased this afternoon at the bottom of Big Windy Creek in Oregon.
James, his wife (Kati), and two young daughters (Penelope and Sabine) were reported missing after the family did not return from a Thanksgiving road trip as expected last week. On Monday, Kati and the children were found in good health near the Rogue River. James was not with them, having left on foot early Saturday morning to seek help. He was supposed to return at 1 p.m.
James was a highly respected member of the digital audio community and will be deeply missed. If you would like to express your sympathy, make a donation, or send gifts to the surviving family, please visit www.jamesandkati.com for more information.

oh my god... I heard about this on the news, but I figured it was just another guy named James Kim.
What a tragedy. I will also miss his reviews... I always enjoyed his reviews- short, sweet, and he said what people wanted to know.
God bless, RIP.

This has truly been a sad day for those of us here in Oregon (and around the globe), who had held on to the diminishing hope that James would be found alive. A very sad day indeed.
Much Love and sympathy to Kati, the girls and the Families of James and Kati Kim.

Another entry in the "bad things happening to good people" file. James was one of the best on the cNet staff at explaining techie stuff in a way that embraced the novice without insulting the insider. And he personally answered his eMail. Between that and his audio and video podcasts and TechTV appearances, and without having met him, I considered him a friend.
I know that, as tragic as his loss is for Kati and the girls, if he had only had the choice of surviving his family or vice versa, he wouldn't have wanted it any other way. He's immortal in their, and our, thoughts.
