Shic P-1000T PMP with DVB-T USB Stick

Shic's upcoming P-1000T portable media player is identical to its predecessor, the P-1000, in every way except one. It comes with a DVB-T USB stick, remote control, and DVB-T antenna so users can watch free digital TV on the device's 4-inch TFT display (480 x 272) and record programs and movies in AVI (MPEG-4) format on its spacious 30GB hard drive just about anywhere. Nothing good on the tube? Not to worry! With native support of DivX, XviD, MPEG-1/2/4, WMV, AVI, and VOB videos; MP3, WMA, and WAV music files; and JPG, GIF, and BMP images, the player ensures that you'll never go too long without being entertained.

The P-1000T also features a text reader, SD card slot, S-Video and Video-Out (NTSC/PAL), USB 2.0 host capabilities, and decent battery life (5 hours for video/TV, 10 hours for audio) on its rechargeable lithium-ion.

AVING USA is reporting that the player will retail in China for about $450. We haven't been able to confirm that, but whatever it costs, the P-1000T is definitely one of the better (if not the best) PMPs to come out of China in a long time.

SanDisk Sansa Clip

The Clip has a fantastic little form factor; cheap in build quality but very rugged. The interface is simple and relatively straight forward. The features on the clip are more or less average, mostly identical to the Sansa Express. However, what earns this player a spot in Editor’s Choice is the superb sound quality; you will not find another player at this size and price that can match it. Cowon iAudio D2

The D2 is a fantastic sounding PMP with a very nice looking screen and a tone of features. One of the best features of the D2 is the SDHC slot allowing you to add another 32GB to this small wonder. The touch interface does not lend well to on the move operation, but it is not enough to keep it from being an editor’s choice. JAYS q-JAYS

The q-JAYS are great in ear phones. They offer excellent clarity, silky treble, realistic midrange, and a nice bass response. They're comfortable, incredibly tiny, and come with a huge selection of accessories. While they certainly are analytic phones, they're still fun to listen to. The q-JAYS respond well to EQing, and can be tweaked to fit almost anyone's sound preference. Recommended for anyone owning a good sounding player and well encoded audio files. Check out our review.
