Tiny Xun Chi 138 MP3 Player Phone

xun-chi-138.jpg

Believe it or not, you're looking at a GPRS cell phone.

The toy-like Xun Chi 138, available only in China, is so small (just 2.64 inches) that it doesn't even have a numeric keypad! Not the most obvious or convenient design choice for a phone, sure, but that's apparently what the touch screen (complete with handwriting recognition) is for. Weighing in at about 2 ounces, the Xun Chi may not be user-friendly for making calls but you can still snap some pics with the built-in 1.3-megapixel camera and listen to some tunes via the integrated MP3 player.

Price? No idea. Battery life? No clue. Silly little device? Absolutely.

One of the best phones I have ever owned.
Battery life is good (up to 1 week on standby)
Sensitivity is good (same as Motorola Razr)
It is the loudest phone I have ever come across and suitable for the hard of hearing.
The camera is nothing much, but can cope well with low light.
Will not work in USA, but works all over Europe and most countries in the world.
You do not need to dial using the attached 'toothpick', but can tap on the screen keyboard with your nail.
Entries into the phonebook using handwriting recognition is much better than with a numeric keypad.
The screen is brilliant but not very good in bright sun.
It plays MP4 and Divx Mpeg4 videos just fine (convert the avi file to MP4)

i have this, but i must tell you that the user manual is completely in CHINESE.
I understood english, but for some function generally i need an user manual.
there is no shortcut for a rapid use of camera. You have to use toothpick, enter to multimedia menu, click on camera.
I bought it from HongKong (on ebay), 150 euro.

this is an hard to find stuff, and if you need replace parts like new battery charger, cable, toothpick, battery.... is almost impossible to find them.
If you want to buy it, try to ask replace parts.

the phone is great, Im an sms addict and I was affraid to buy this phone when I read all the problem from users to write fast SMS but....you can write sms really fast, not with the handwriting which is quite slow but with the mini virtual Qwerty keyboard on the screen that you can make appearing while typiing the SMS/MMS... almost fast as t9 but you can choose also what you write, so abreviations and so on... really good !!

But else, i really have a problem to use the shortcuts. I really dont understand how to use them... someone know ??? i would be really pleased :)

  • SanDisk Sansa Clip
    SanDisk Sansa Clip

The Clip has a fantastic little form factor; cheap in build quality but very rugged. The interface is simple and relatively straight forward. The features on the clip are more or less average, mostly identical to the Sansa Express. However, what earns this player a spot in Editor’s Choice is the superb sound quality; you will not find another player at this size and price that can match it. Read the full review or go ahead and buy it.

  • Samsung P3
    Samsung P2

The Samsung P2 was a success and the P3 is a very welcome and substantial update. Samsung has paid close attention to users on P2 issues and made great strides in addressing and improving most of them. The best feature of the P3 is its native video support. Most content you thow at it will playback without conversion on the great looking screen. Stop by the Samsung P3 forums for more details or check out our indepth P3 review.

  • Microsoft Zune 120
    Samsung P2

Sure, many of us are not big fans of the walled garden, but there are a lot of great things going on with the Zune- sturdy hardware, ultra easy to use user interface, and a media player that is worthy of editor’s choice. The best part of the Zune is the constant firmware and software updates virtually giving you a new device at each major refresh. You can check out the latest Zune 120 & 16 review or stop by our Zune forums for the latest.

  • Cowon iAudio D2
    Cowon iAudio D2

The D2 is a fantastic sounding PMP with a very nice looking screen and a tone of features. One of the best features of the D2 is the SDHC slot allowing you to add another 32GB to this small wonder. The touch interface does not lend well to on the move operation, but it is not enough to keep it from being an editor’s choice. You can find usually find it at Amazon for the best price and before to check out the review.

  • Phonak Audéo PFE
    Phonak PFE

Phonak Audéo PFE offer outstanding clarity and precision; natural, dynamic mids and treble, and decent bass for a single armature in-ear phone. They handle dense, complex music very well. The PFE work well with most acoustic and some electronic music genres, but bassheads might have to look at other alternatives. They're great for sports as well, since they fit very securely. Check out our review.
