Cowon's New iAudio F2
No, Cowon didn't enter the mobile phone market. Even though you may be tempted to pick up the new iAudio F2 and start dialing, we assure you that this little guy (2.87" x 1.37" x 0.66") is actually a flash-based DAP that supports a bevy of codecs: MP3, WAV, WMA, ASF, Ogg Vorbis, and FLAC. The F2 is really all about the music, but if your eyes are in tip-top shape, you can view photos, read text, and watch videos on the 1.3-inch display (260K colors, 128 x 160).
Other features include an FM radio and recorder, 22-hour battery life, and voice recorder. Details on availability and pricing are sketchy, but you'll be able to select from 512MB, 1GB, and 2GB versions once the device hits stores. (Engadget is reporting that the 2GB model can be yours for $187 beginning September 22.)
