Swivel-Screen Newman M790 MP3 Player

Yeah, we're getting tired of seeing yet another Chinese DAP that does more of the same old thing too. That's why Newman's new M790 player is so refreshing. Even though the company tends to churn out countless look-alike products, the unique M790 appears to be equipped with a 2.5-inch swivel screen, a feature typically associated with only the T-Mobile Sidekick.

Since Newman doesn't have its own site, concrete details like price and battery life are a bit sketchy. Aside from the TFT display (260K colors, 320 x 240), though, the stuff we do know is of the standard unthrilling variety: 512MB, SD/MMC expansion slot, MP3 and WMA support, USB 1.1, games, calendar, and an electronic dictionary. Supported video codecs are unspecified, though the device does seem to have some sort of video in/out capabilities.

The Newman M790 should be available this month, even though it doesn't seem to exist right now. Even Google can't find it!

The D2 is a fantastic sounding PMP with a very nice looking screen and a tone of features. One of the best features of the D2 is the SDHC slot allowing you to add another 32GB to this small wonder. The touch interface does not lend well to on the move operation, but it is not enough to keep it from being an editor’s choice. Phonak Audéo PFE

Phonak Audéo PFE offer outstanding clarity and precision; natural, dynamic mids and treble, and decent bass for a single armature in-ear phone. They handle dense, complex music very well. The PFE work well with most acoustic and some electronic music genres, but bassheads might have to look at other alternatives. They're great for sports as well, since they fit very securely.
