Creative Zen Vision:M SD or the "Vision:M Lite"

vision-m-sd.jpg

In efforts to cut costs Creative will be offering a version of the Vision:M without the AC adapter through Amazon JP. For those who had thier eye on the green, blue, or pink Vision:M you are out of luck; the color choices will be limited to black or white. At the moment it is a Japan only deal, but I would suspect it to hit the EU and US at some point. The ZVM is already selling typically for $300 and with a price drop it would be well below the 5G iPod. Even now, sales on the ZVM drop below the $300 mark. More features, better screen; how can you loose?

I'm confused. Does this version of the Vision:M use an SD card or is it just without an AC adapter?

ssjmichael on May 17, 2006 3:00 PM

No SD Card. The US version is already missing an AC Adapter btw so in reality we already have the SD version here and for the same price as the regular version.

Inflatable Dragon on May 17, 2006 10:48 PM

Mine came with an AC adapter. Though I think it was the more expensive one, I got it before the announced price drops.

Banig on May 18, 2006 3:22 AM

SD is misleading. Does it mean Save Dollars? lol

alex on May 23, 2006 7:10 PM

i paid 300 for mine in march w/the adapter

Ben on May 24, 2006 11:49 AM

I just got mine for 221 USD through a price match at staples. It has the AC adapter, although it was not listed on the box.

monkeyplague on May 26, 2006 6:12 PM

SD means super duper

Curatard on June 2, 2006 6:08 PM

This thing rocks, I listen to this at work all day instead of doing my job. And I still get more done than my coworkers.

Streeks on June 25, 2006 2:20 PM

Wait what? I just paid $300 for my Zen Vision:M and I didn't get an AC adaptor with it. Did I get ripped off? O_o'

Joe Blo on July 5, 2006 8:23 PM

Same with me. When I went to Circuitcity to buy it, I noticed the box was small...too small. I shrugged it off, and lo to behold, no AC adaptor! I was soo pi$$ed...If I didn't use it for my Xbox 360 so much for music, I would be forced to pay 30 simoleans for it. (since I wouldn't want to keep wasting electrisity to turn the computer on just to charge it)

STM on July 6, 2006 7:02 PM

How much did you pay for your ZVM in Citcuitcity?

saitoh on August 2, 2006 2:23 PM

Yo WTF.... I ordered mine from Buy.com, and it didn't come with an A/C adapter. I check the site, Buy says it comes with a power adapter, but then I go to the Creative site, and the "what's included" doesn't include a power adapter!!

Another thing... I can't seem to find the ac adapter as an optional accessory on the Creative site. What gives??

Jesse on August 7, 2006 2:12 PM

anyone know if the zvm at amazon.com for $270 usd comes with the ac adapter, e-mail me @ gamerjdawg@aol.com if u know

hrth on August 22, 2006 6:21 PM

i dont think so. because the adapter is not listed on the site. probably all orders made now will not have the adapter.

hey whats the program that the vision m uses called?

ChiPPy on August 26, 2006 4:18 PM

I found at Best Buy here in Canada, an older version black ZVM in a BIG box, and it had the power adapter. I didn't like the black player because the finger prints were nasty, so I returned it and purchased a blue ZVM, in a box about 2/3 the size, but NO power adapter. Strangely though, neither box had the power adapter listed on the box contents, and both were the same price. I have since picked one up on eBay, and it plugs directly in to the ZVM, without the need for the dongle, so I'm happier with that solution anyway.

jon on September 12, 2006 7:43 PM

how do you charge the creative zen vision:m without the power adapter? the plug doesn't fit into the walls. is there a way to charge it for the first time with the usb cable because it's not working for me. help please.

i was wondering if since the box doesnt come with the AC power adapter, if u can still buy them at the store u bought it. I got mine from futureshop.

Hans on November 17, 2006 5:06 AM

Just bought a new Zen Vision on ebay for $202 shipped!! No power adapter, who cares? For anyone who doesn't know, the USB cable charges it, just not very fast. It'll go about 12 hours on a charge as near as I can tell. Is that enough?

Hans on November 17, 2006 5:11 AM

Oh, may I add...
Make sure you have USB 1.1 or higher (preferably 2.0), make sure you connect to a powered USB hub or a USB port on your computer. This is all spelled out in the instruciton manual.

chris on December 22, 2006 1:36 PM

hey for all of you out there you can get them for 200 with free shipping on amazon in any color

John on January 2, 2007 5:41 AM

  • Samsung P2
    Samsung P2

The Samsung P2 has been gaining quite a following lately and rightfully so. If you are looking for something well designed, innovative, and feature packed; you should look into this full touch screen wonder. The Bluetooth feature set is what I find to be the most intriguing, with the ability to tether to your phone to make calls or wirelessly transfer with no restrictions to other P2s. Check out the review or stop by our ever growing P2 forums to get the latest info.

  • Toshiba Gigabeat T400
    toshiba gigabeat t400

The Gigabeat T400 is without a doubt my favorite flash player at the moment. It does have one major setback in that it only comes in a 4GB, shame on you Toshiba. What makes me love this player is it's ultra slick sexy design, very easy- just pick up and use interface, and killer sound quality that would make Cowon users envious. This player is a must buy for anyone who sports a premium set of headphones. Full review to come but you should really just buy one.

  • SanDisk Sansa Clip
    SanDisk Sansa Clip

The Clip has a fantastic little form factor; cheap in build quality but very rugged. The interface is simple and relatively straight forward. The features on the clip are more or less average, mostly identical to the Sansa Express. However, what earns this player a spot in Editor’s Choice is the superb sound quality; you will not find another player at this size and price that can match it. Read the full review or go ahead and buy it.

  • Cowon iAudio D2
    Cowon iAudio D2

The D2 is a fantastic sounding PMP with a very nice looking screen and a tone of features. One of the best features of the D2 is the SDHC slot allowing you to add another 32GB to this small wonder. The touch interface does not lend well to on the move operation, but it is not enough to keep it from being an editor’s choice. You can find usually find it at Amazon for the best price and before to check out the review.

  • JAYS q-JAYS
    JAYS q-JAYS

The q-JAYS are great in ear phones. They offer excellent clarity, silky treble, realistic midrange, and a nice bass response. They're comfortable, incredibly tiny, and come with a huge selection of accessories. While they certainly are analytic phones, they're still fun to listen to. The q-JAYS respond well to EQing, and can be tweaked to fit almost anyone's sound preference. Recommended for anyone owning a good sounding player and well encoded audio files. Check out our review.
