Sony A002, A003, A005 Compact Network Walkmans

sony-a002-a-003-a005.jpg

Sony will be releasing small flash based MP3 walkmans with built in USB connections. The will come in 512MB, 1GB, and 2GB versions respectively. ATRACLife mentions that this player will be a replacement of the E100/E300 series players and that it will prices below the respective Nano sizes. Bad news for all you SonicStage haters, the A000 series will ship with SonicStage 3.4. But then again there is always SonicStage alternatives like GYM.

What happened to the NW-A004? As seen before with the NW-Hx series, Sony has skipped the A004 because the number 4 in Japanese sounds like the word for “death”.

The name of this site should change to anything but ipod or sony.

Oliver Ward on March 28, 2006 12:31 AM

Sony really should just call it quits. They'll probably pull these as fast as they pulled the "Bean". It's also amazing that they continue to ship products for use with Sonic Stage. That program (deservedly) has had so much bad press that it'd be worth saving time and money and cease releasing any new media players until theyve got something worth using to ship with it. They're just digging their own grave by continuing this farce.

I Brought this mp3 player yesterday.
Does anyone know how to get the volume limiter off because the volume isn't hard enough for me.

ronl on July 3, 2006 8:37 AM

i want a detailed review of sony nw-a608....
where i can get it

Sibyl on July 24, 2006 10:43 PM

Actually, I use SonicStage 3.4 and my friend bought the A600 which shipped with Connect Player. Believe me, SonicStage - after all those new versions and revisions - is actually BETTER than Connect Player, which in its present incarnation behaves like early SonicStage versions.

If they'd stuck with Connect Player, they'd be digging that grave much faster.

The only way to get their head out of the dirt, though, is to stop using these ridiculous programs anyway, which are ultimately a compromise, and switch to UMS methods!

Many thanks for the "File Error" problem.

Amanda on June 11, 2008 8:51 PM

I am having the same problems as many of you are having. I have had my Sony MP3 Player for a long time and now it's saying no database. If someone could please e-mail me and tell me how to fix it I would greatly appreciate it! My e-mail address is albellmyer@hotmail.com. Sonicstage is the best it just sucks that they no longer sell songs through the internet anymore.

Rajeev on June 29, 2008 9:27 PM

My Sony mp3 flash walkman gave "FILE ERROR". I could not get it to play even using 'Reset' button at the back. What caused this was to directly deleting the folders under OMGAUDIO folder.

I found the solution to this. Take backup, and just delete every folder in the player (empty). Now thru Sonic stage transfer the files thru the ATRAC

Rajeev on June 29, 2008 9:35 PM

(Contd..)
Let the player rebuild the song database.

  • Samsung P2
    Samsung P2

The Samsung P2 has been gaining quite a following lately and rightfully so. If you are looking for something well designed, innovative, and feature packed; you should look into this full touch screen wonder. The Bluetooth feature set is what I find to be the most intriguing, with the ability to tether to your phone to make calls or wirelessly transfer with no restrictions to other P2s. Check out the review or stop by our ever growing P2 forums to get the latest info.

  • Toshiba Gigabeat T400
    toshiba gigabeat t400

The Gigabeat T400 is without a doubt my favorite flash player at the moment. It does have one major setback in that it only comes in a 4GB, shame on you Toshiba. What makes me love this player is it's ultra slick sexy design, very easy- just pick up and use interface, and killer sound quality that would make Cowon users envious. This player is a must buy for anyone who sports a premium set of headphones. Full review to come but you should really just buy one.

  • SanDisk Sansa Clip
    SanDisk Sansa Clip

The Clip has a fantastic little form factor; cheap in build quality but very rugged. The interface is simple and relatively straight forward. The features on the clip are more or less average, mostly identical to the Sansa Express. However, what earns this player a spot in Editor’s Choice is the superb sound quality; you will not find another player at this size and price that can match it. Read the full review or go ahead and buy it.

  • Cowon iAudio D2
    Cowon iAudio D2

The D2 is a fantastic sounding PMP with a very nice looking screen and a tone of features. One of the best features of the D2 is the SDHC slot allowing you to add another 32GB to this small wonder. The touch interface does not lend well to on the move operation, but it is not enough to keep it from being an editor’s choice. You can find usually find it at Amazon for the best price and before to check out the review.

  • JAYS q-JAYS
    JAYS q-JAYS

The q-JAYS are great in ear phones. They offer excellent clarity, silky treble, realistic midrange, and a nice bass response. They're comfortable, incredibly tiny, and come with a huge selection of accessories. While they certainly are analytic phones, they're still fun to listen to. The q-JAYS respond well to EQing, and can be tweaked to fit almost anyone's sound preference. Recommended for anyone owning a good sounding player and well encoded audio files. Check out our review.
