Toshiba is set to release the Gigabeat P sometime in December in Japan and sometime in the future for the US. Currently they are only offering the MP3 players in 512MB (P5) and 1GB (P10) sizes which is a bit behind the curve considering newer players are heading in the 2GB and 4GB sizes. The devices have a OLED 96x96 pixel display and will support the usual MP3, WMA, and WAV.

The Clip has a fantastic little form factor; cheap in build quality but very rugged. The interface is simple and relatively straight forward. The features on the clip are more or less average, mostly identical to the Sansa Express. However, what earns this player a spot in Editor’s Choice is the superb sound quality; you will not find another player at this size and price that can match it. The D2 is a fantastic sounding PMP with a very nice looking screen and a tone of features. One of the best features of the D2 is the SDHC slot allowing you to add another 32GB to this small wonder. The touch interface does not lend well to on the move operation, but it is not enough to keep it from being an editor’s choice. Phonak Audéo PFE offer outstanding clarity and precision; natural, dynamic mids and treble, and decent bass for a single armature in-ear phone. They handle dense, complex music very well. The PFE work well with most acoustic and some electronic music genres, but bassheads might have to look at other alternatives. They're great for sports as well, since they fit very securely. I'm a MobilPhile/Gigabeat fanatic, and I just have to say, those look ugly. And they damn well better support some sort of memory card expansion. (SD/compact flash?)

this gigabeat is crap!!!! the first one i got only lasted for a few weeks and then stopped working and the replacement i got of the same model stopped working the second day i got it!!! it is so frustrating. i think i will request for a full refund and get another mp3 player! i have totally lost confidence in this model!

Why can't there be any updates for these? My one just putted out on me and I thought it was a very nice piece of equipment. I want to get it working put I can't anything on it. Which I find anoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
