Ask ABi: MP3 Players that Record AM Radio
Caroline writes:
I like to record AM radio talk shows and listen to them later. No players have AM tuners, right? Any ideas about what to buy?
The only MP3 player that I know about that records AM radio is the RadioYourWay LX made by PoGo Products. This player will allow you to set times to record your talk shows automatically on AM or FM radio. It will encode at bitrates from 32 to 256 kbps and supports WMA, MP3, and RVF file formats. The player comes with built in memory and will accept SD/MMC cards for an extra 1GB+ of memory.
The RadioYourWay LX may not have all the new features of the latest MP3 players, but it seems like it would be a good product to fit your need. Does anyone else know of any other players that will record AM radio?

Well any MP3 player/recorder that has line in could be hooked up to an AM radio with line out(think headphone jack)...so I might suggest the nice Cowan iAudio X5 (and a cable from radio shack)

Hey, it's Caroline! I bought a program called Replay Radio, which can record any internet stream even when I'm not around. Works great. Gets shows that don't play on a station around here. Saves the show as MP3, wav, or ogg, and then I can upload em to ANY MP3 player.

Also there's the "Creative Zen Nano Plus 1GB MP3 Player" that has an audio line-in. You could then use a $10 AM/FM pocket radio output line.
