Creative Zen Review

creative-zen-with-zen-micro.jpg

UPDATE: Hi, thi is the old Creative Zen... You are probably looking for the new Creative Zen Review.

Below is the old Zen

Monsternet.org has a nice in depth review on the Creative Zen, not Zen Micro or Zen Touch but just Zen. For those that don’t know the Creative Zen is a 20GB version of the Zen Micro with all the same great features. Creative has also taken steppes to improve the response time of the user interface, compared to the Zen Micro. Monsternet.org’s only complaint was that it didn’t feel or look to zen in their hands. Maybe they just have tiny hands. Check the site out for more side by side comparison pics.

heyy, I'm just wondering if they do all the things Ipods do? Cause I don't really like Ipods, but I like the things it can do in a Menu..should I go for a Zen???

Thanks*

Do you think a Zen is better than an Ipod? Should I buy the Zen or an Ipod? Does the Zen do every thing an Ipod can do?

zenformation on July 19, 2006 8:23 AM

yes go for the zen it a better buy and it is as good as the ipod without the cost of the ipod. In my opinion the best besides the ipod...any mp3 player created by creative.

John on July on July 19, 2006 8:33 AM

Yes it does everything an ipod does(mabye not the ipod video, but the zen photo can hold pictures no videos). it also has a 15 hr. battery life so no need to wory about the batteries running out on you. just because the zen is not an ipod doesn't mean that it is subpar to the ipod. just because ipods are ipods they cost too much, but creative is as good as a brand as ipod, but with the lower cost difference. If it were up to me, forget the ipod im getting the zen.

A zen!? a ZEN!? looks like a dollar store calculator or something! might break the second you buy this cheap calculator! If its not a calculator is that my remote to my TV (because if you found it please return it to me, my my legs are killing me! I have to walk to the TV set to change channels every 5 seconds! WHAT! not my remote!? not a calcultaor? probably some junky organizer that stores up to two names before it overloads heats up and fries up the memory then becomes trash! speaking of trash I have to take my garbage out. speaking of garbage this looks like crap. enough said....stupid TV....

what the fuck are you doing on this forum??? go stick your computer up your ass because that is about all you are using it for.

Nena on August 21, 2006 6:12 PM

zen is a very BETTER choice because first of all the cost is cheaper than ipods and it provides much more features. ( like you could change ur background with one of your favorite pictures, fm radio, built in microphone for voice recording, alarm...etc..) One of the most valuable feature it contains is the availbilty to change batteries for about 40 dollars from what i heard. if you don't like the design whatever than just stick with ipod which everybody is just buying. i'm buying zen!!!

Out of the Ipod Fog... on September 28, 2006 10:23 AM

I lost my ipod last week. I was so bummed...it was the best thing that has happened to me in a long time. I had to go out and find another MP3 player, which made me do a little more homework before wasting my money on another Ipod. The Ipod always felt too fragile and I was limited on flexibility. Well, did my homework and came up with the Zen-M ($249). 30GB HD, recordable radio, 265,000, colors, EQ, Calendar, Alarm...Sh!t...too many options to mention. Like I said best thing to happen to me in a while. Stop wasting your time with Ipods.

So about a week ago my ipod jack for the headphones stopped working. it would only play through one ear. And to be honest it really pissed me off. this is my second ipod and to be quite frank iam sick of these things breaking. So anyone with a zen have any advice? like it looks like most of you guys are all for the zen. but i mean will it last? i dont feel like dishing out 250 bucks everytime my mp3 player breaks i need something that lasts.

HP Sista on March 20, 2007 3:39 PM

ZEN is best. I got 30 GBs, bigger than most computers. I converted VIDEOs for work to simple .mov files and coverted them on my MP3 player. Now I can multitask: Watch the video on my MP3 player, while I complete work tasks at my desk. Love IT!!!!

Zen is far better than an ipod.
Its much more sexy looking and easyer to fit ion your pocket, although ipods are the in thing, i dont like itunes so its perfect for me :)

  • SanDisk Sansa Clip
    SanDisk Sansa Clip

The Clip has a fantastic little form factor; cheap in build quality but very rugged. The interface is simple and relatively straight forward. The features on the clip are more or less average, mostly identical to the Sansa Express. However, what earns this player a spot in Editor’s Choice is the superb sound quality; you will not find another player at this size and price that can match it. Read the full review or go ahead and buy it.

Sure, many of us are not big fans of the walled garden, but there are a lot of great things going on with the Zune- sturdy hardware, ultra easy to use user interface, and a media player that is worthy of editor’s choice. The best part of the Zune is the constant firmware and software updates virtually giving you a new device at each major refresh. • Cowon iAudio D2
    Cowon iAudio D2

The D2 is a fantastic sounding PMP with a very nice looking screen and a tone of features. One of the best features of the D2 is the SDHC slot allowing you to add another 32GB to this small wonder. The touch interface does not lend well to on the move operation, but it is not enough to keep it from being an editor’s choice. You can find usually find it at Amazon for the best price and before to check out the review.

  • Phonak Audéo PFE
    Phonak PFE

Phonak Audéo PFE offer outstanding clarity and precision; natural, dynamic mids and treble, and decent bass for a single armature in-ear phone. They handle dense, complex music very well. The PFE work well with most acoustic and some electronic music genres, but bassheads might have to look at other alternatives. They're great for sports as well, since they fit very securely. Check out our review.
